In the early 18th century the Mughal empire was declininga nd their lack of a strong leader and a unified people left an opening for external powers to interfere. That is what Britain and France did. The British East India Trading company was a joint stock company that operated like a mutinational corporation with exclusive rights over British trade in India, Robert clive raide an effective army that ridded Inida of the French. Clive conquered the Bengal region. this was a big deal because the East India Company was a corporation. It was corporate troops that conquered the region. Over the next 100 years the company took advantage of the weak Mughals and set up administrative regions throughout the empire. Britan took over many areas.

The rivalry between France and Britian was occuring through the seven years war, in which they were fighting over land. One of these lands, just happened to be India. England of course won and created the British East India Company, that was a joint-stock company that operated in which they ahd rights to trade with India. Corporate troops had conquered many lands in India. They ahd set up administrative regions throughout everywhere. The Mughal Empire did not see it coming.

Robert Clive raised an army the rid the subcontinent of French. Over the next hundred years the company took advantage of the weak Mughals and set up administrative regions throughout the empire.

Britain established control over India. India was forced to send Britain materials, and goods. However Britain had a positive influence of India. Britain built hospitals, schools, railraods. One negative effect was rascism. In 1857 the Sepoy rebellion occured. This is when the people of India tried to rebel against Britain but failed. Britain created a govermtn known as a Raj, which established control over parts of India. The Muslim league was formed in 1906 which promoted independence.

During the early 18th century, the Mughal Empire was becoming weak because of decades of wars, and religious conflict between the Hindus and Muslims. With the lacking of a good leader and no united government system, this gave higher powered countries and chance to come in a take what they wanted. Britian and France had many different conflicts all around the world during the Seven Years War. Britian won everything. This is when the British East India Trading Company came into play. This was a joint company which gave the British exclusive rights when it came to trade in India. For the next hundred years, the company was able to weaken the Mughal and set up administrative regions all over the empire.

Europeans have always wanted new goods from other countries. So as the Mugal Empire started declining, the fact they had a poor leader let the people unify together and allowed external powers to come in. British and French both wanted to be in power.
In the 1750s called the 7 years war the French and British fought for that reason. The fought in North Africa. Europe and India.
the Brisih won, forming the British East India Company, a joint stock company led into India by Robert Clive.
The British took advantage of the Mughal declining.
In 1798 Ceylon fell to the British as well as the Punjab region.
British used Sepoys (Indian soldiers traiend by british). But they soon began to notice how power hungry British were, and were digusted with the fact they made them pull the cap off there gun which was mad out of Beef or pork. Muslims do not eat pork, and Hindus do not eat beef.
Bahdur Shah II was ruelr of Mughal but he had no control voer British rule so he was sent into exile, leading the Mughal to fall.
Indians became British subjects and Queen Victioria was then seen as Empress of India.

So, due to how power hungry Britians were, they caused a war, a rebellion by Sepoys and they gained more out of the fall of Mughal then anyone else.
